Sea Quest's 4-day trip from Coron is the only marketplace expedition we found with exactly three nights: two in beach camps and one at Ariara, a private-island resort. It is new on GetYourGuide, with no reviews yet.

How to Decide on a Longer Trip

Four checks before you pay for a fourth day.

  1. Count the nights, not the days

3 days usually means 2 nights. Sea Quest's 4-day trip and Big Dream Boatman's 4D3N have 3. Tao's Original has 4 nights and lands around noon on day five.

  2. Check where the extra night is spent

On Sea Quest's trips the extra time goes to a resort island. At Big Dream Boatman and Buhay Isla it is another beach camp.

  3. Plan for the arrival time

Sea Quest lands at about 4 to 6 pm on the last day. Don't book a flight that evening, and leave a spare day before any international flight.

  4. Check the season

Big Dream Boatman runs from October to July and pauses in August and September. Every operator sails only with Coast Guard clearance.

Longer, shorter and private

The 4-Day Trip Next to the 3-Day Standard

Sea Quest's resort trip, the two We Are Juan 3D2N trips most people book, and a private boat if you want your own pace.

Longer expeditions

What a Fourth (or Fifth) Day Really Adds

A fourth day on a Coron–El Nido expedition buys one more night ashore and one more day of two to four island stops. It does not take you anywhere the three-day trips skip: the longer routes still run through Culion and Linapacan between the two towns. Book it if you want a slower pace or a comfortable night in the middle, not because longer is better. On the marketplaces the choice is thin. Of the expeditions we track, only two run past three days, both from Sea Quest and both new: the 4-day trip from Coron with a resort night at $1,051 per person and the 5-day trip from El Nido at $1,541, on dates we checked in late October 2026. The other longer trips are sold direct by their operators. Our review of the 4-day trip →

Night counts, trip by trip

Day counts hide the difference. Most marketplace expeditions are three days and two nights, arriving in the afternoon of day three. The longer ones vary more than their names suggest.

Tao is the one to read twice. Its own pages call the Original “4 days 4 nights”, and the itinerary has nights on days one to four with arrival around noon on day five. Book hotels and flights for that, not for a four-day trip. Our Tao Philippines guide has the day-by-day.

What the extra day actually adds

On Sea Quest’s trips, the extra time is mostly comfort. The 4-day listing puts one night at Ariara Private Island Luxury Resort between two camp nights: an air-conditioned villa or suite, hot showers, an infinity pool, a sunset cocktail and Starlink Wi-Fi. The 5-day trip gives Ariara two nights and a full free day there. The listing says the resort night is confirmed about 45 days before departure, with an alternative or a full refund if it falls through, and that you need a credit card at check-in for extras. If you want an expedition but dread three nights of bucket showers, that break in the middle is the real selling point.

At Big Dream Boatman, the fourth day is another day at sea and a third night in a beach cottage or glamping tent, with a fan, a thick mattress and a generator that runs until about 3 am. Its price includes island entrance fees, three meals and local beer and rum. Buhay Isla sells the same idea in three lengths, 3D2N, 4D3N and 5D4N, booked by email. Its site showed a September promotion, so confirm the price before you plan around it.

We’d pick a longer trip if you have the days and want a slower pace, or if a night with a hot shower and Wi-Fi halfway through would make the camping easier. We’d skip it if the three-day trip already fills the gap in your itinerary. Two nights is enough to see what the route is about, and our 3-day, 2-night page covers that trade.

The price of one more day

Measured against the We Are Juan 3D2N trips at $311, Sea Quest’s 4-day trip costs $740 more per person, and we would put most of that down to the resort night and the smaller group of up to 18. The 5-day trip adds $490 more again for a second Ariara night and a different direction, El Nido to Coron. Big Dream Boatman’s 4D3N, at $599, is the cheapest dollar price we found for three nights, though you book it direct and pay a 40% deposit, with the balance due seven days before. We can’t line up Buhay Isla’s peso prices with the dollar ones without an exchange rate, so compare them on the day you book. Our expedition price page covers fees and extras.

The drawbacks of a longer trip

  • One more night of simple facilities. Camps on these routes have shared toilets and cold showers, often bucket and dipper, and power for a few hours in the evening. Only Ariara has Wi-Fi.
  • More days exposed to weather. Every operator sails only with Coast Guard clearance, and Sea Quest says routes change with sea conditions. A longer trip has more days that can be reshuffled.
  • Age limits. Big Dream Boatman takes guests aged 12 to 60 “strictly”, Tao sets a minimum of 13 and Buhay Isla a minimum of 10.
  • Season. Big Dream Boatman runs from October to July and does not sail in August and September. See our best time to go guide.
  • New listings. Neither Sea Quest trip had a review on GetYourGuide when we checked, and the 4-day trip gives final departure confirmation no later than 48 hours before.

Watch for trips that only look longer

From Coron: El Nido 3-Night Tour with Island Hopping is not an expedition. It is a ferry ticket, three hotel nights in El Nido and two day tours. That is a fine package if you just need to get to El Nido, but you sleep in town, not on the islands. Our ferry guide explains that option.

Which longer trip suits whom

  • You want comfort in the middle: Sea Quest’s 4-day trip from Coron, or the 5-day trip from El Nido if you want a full day off at the resort.
  • You want three camp nights at a fixed dollar price: Big Dream Boatman, booked direct. Our Big Dream Boatman guide and Tao vs Big Dream Boatman compare it.
  • You want four nights of camping: Tao’s Original, if Tao confirms your dates and price.
  • You want your own boat and pace: our private expeditions page.

Direction matters as much as length. Sea Quest’s 4-day trip only runs Coron to El Nido and the 5-day only El Nido to Coron, so start from our Coron to El Nido or El Nido to Coron page if your route is already fixed.
