How to Work Out Your Real Cost
Four lines to add to the listing price.
Start from a date price
Compare the price for your date, not the headline. Shared 3D2N trips ran from $281 to $458 per person on dates we checked in late October 2026.
Add the local fees
El Nido PHP 400, Coron PHP 200, Linapacan PHP 200 and Culion PHP 100. Read each listing's inclusions to see which you still pay, in cash.
Add the night before and after
Most operators hold a briefing the evening before, so you need a hotel at the start and usually one at the end.
Add transfers, tips and insurance
Airport vans, tricycles, crew tips and travel insurance, which some operators require, sit outside the price.

Tao Philippines did not show a current price on its site when we checked, so we don’t quote one. We don’t convert pesos to dollars here because the rate moves; compare on the day you book. Our guides to Keelooma, We Are Juan and Buhay Isla cover their trips.
What the price usually includes
On the shared 3D2N listings: the boat, captain and crew, a guide, two nights in a native hut with mattress, pillow and mosquito net, three meals a day with snacks, drinking water, a limited amount of rum or gin, and a mask and snorkel. Many add a one-way transfer between El Nido town and San Fernando or Sibaltan port.
What you pay for yourself: fins at several operators, beer at Keelooma, canned drinks at Sea Nomads, towels at some, personal travel insurance (Keelooma and Sea Nomads require it), and tips.
The extra fees
| Fee | Amount | Who collects it |
|---|---|---|
| El Nido Eco-Tourism Development Fee | PHP 400 | Paid at the port or through your operator before departure |
| Coron environmental fee | PHP 200 | Collected in cash on arrival in Coron |
| Linapacan fee | PHP 200 | Often included; see the table above |
| Culion fee | PHP 100 | Often included; see the table above |
If none are included you pay PHP 900. If you already paid the El Nido fee for a day tour, keep the receipt: it is valid for several days, though operators and guides disagree on how many, and Sea Nomads tells guests to bring it. All of these are cash.
Tips, transfers and hotels
- Tips. Every listing leaves them to you, and Keelooma suggests tipping the crew. No operator we checked gives a figure.
- Getting to Coron. The van from Busuanga airport to Coron town takes about 45 minutes and costs about PHP 150 to 228 shared.
- Getting to El Nido. From Puerto Princesa, a shared van takes 5 to 5.5 hours for about PHP 720 to 790; a private van costs about PHP 7,300 to 8,800. Our getting there guide has flights too.
- Port transfers. Keelooma quotes about PHP 250 by tricycle from El Nido town to its Lio office and about PHP 200 from Coron Port to town.
- Hotels. We Are Juan holds its compulsory briefing at 5 pm the evening before and Castaway at 6 pm, so you need a bed on the night before departure, and usually one on the night you land. See where to stay in Coron and where to stay in El Nido.
Is it good value?
The fast ferry between El Nido and Coron costs roughly PHP 2,750 to 3,250 in 2026 and takes about three and a half hours. An expedition costs several times that. The comparison is not quite fair, though: the expedition price covers two nights’ accommodation, every meal and two and a half days of island stops you would otherwise pay for separately. We’d call it fair value if you want those days on the islands, and poor value if you only need to get from one town to the other. Our expedition vs ferry guide works through that choice.
On the lowest-priced expedition with a review history, read the small print. Exodus Expedition has 16 reviews and a 4.7 rating, but we could not find an operator website, and one low review says the guest was moved to another company’s boat because the trip had not filled and had cash stolen at camp. Keep valuables with you on any expedition. If you are starting in Coron, our Coron to El Nido page compares the trips from there; starting in El Nido, see El Nido to Coron.

Ratings and review counts are the operators' live figures on GetYourGuide and Viator, checked in October 2026, and shift slightly day to day.
"It was great! Ivan was an amazing leader, and I saw so many things. We stopped off at plenty of islands each day, I saw turtles, squid, pufferfish, black tip reef sharks, a sting ray, and lots of fish. The food was amazing, and overall it was a great experience!"
"We had a great time during this trip! The boat rides were very smooth, the food was amazing (thank you to chef Rama!) and the places we vistited were beautiful. Tour guides Elmar and Jimmy tied everything together. Thank you for the good time!"
"Good guides, great people on board and an overall great experience"
"Unreal experience, I would highly recommend it. The Crew were fantastic, the guys from the company dropped snacks off at my hotel before the excursion and the guys on the boat couldn't do more for you. Some of the best scenery I've ever seen and the group were brilliant. One of the best experiences ever, thank you."
"Absolutely fantastic, though I had a bit of hangover due to gin, rhum and red horse beer…lol good crew, good itinerary, good food, well worth the trip, stopovers great, kareoke worked well, good good good trip Recommend 👍"

A shared 3-day, 2-night trip cost $281 to $458 per person on GetYourGuide and $365 to $369 on Viator, on dates we checked in late October 2026. Booked direct, operators quoted PHP 16,000 to 19,800, or PHP 22,900 at Buhay Isla. Longer and private trips run from $599 to $1,701 per person.
Sometimes. El Nido charges PHP 400, Coron PHP 200, Linapacan PHP 200 and Culion PHP 100. Some listings include Linapacan and Culion, a few include everything, and the We Are Juan El Nido listing excludes all four. Check each listing's inclusions; the table on this page shows them.
It can be, but direct prices are in pesos and change with the season, and you pay a deposit and the balance in cash at several operators. Compare the peso price at that day's exchange rate with the marketplace price for the same date, and weigh the marketplace's cancellation terms.
No operator we checked gives a figure. All listings leave tips to you, and Keelooma suggests tipping the crew. Bring cash: there are no ATMs on the islands.
The fast ferry costs roughly PHP 2,750 to 3,250 and takes about three and a half hours, so it is much cheaper if you only need to travel. The expedition also covers two nights' accommodation, all meals and the island days. See expedition vs ferry.
Usually, yes. We Are Juan's briefing is at 5 pm and Castaway's at 6 pm on the evening before departure, and both are compulsory. See where to stay in El Nido and where to stay in Coron.
