From Coron Port to El Nido Town
Four simple steps to your booking.
Arrive in Coron a day early
The We Are Juan briefing is at 5 pm the evening before, and Castaway's is at 6 pm. Both are mandatory, so land at Busuanga the day before at the latest.
Pack a small bag and a dry bag
Main luggage goes into the boat for the whole trip. Everything you need for three days goes in a separate bag.
Board at Coron Port
Boats leave from the Port of Coron after registration and Coast Guard clearance, then head south through Culion and Linapacan.
Finish on El Nido's east coast
Most boats land at San Fernando or Sibaltan, about 45 minutes by road from El Nido town. Plan an evening in El Nido, not a flight.

Prices are per person on the earliest open date we found when we checked on 25 October 2026, or Viator’s from-price. They move with the date, so open the listing for your own departure.
Sea Nomads’ Coron departure is new on GetYourGuide with no reviews yet. Its listing is the most detailed about the route: lunch on the boat on day one, a viewpoint hike on Waling Waling Island, cliff jumping at Double Nueve when the sea allows, and a fishing village on Inapapuan Island. Electricity at its camps runs from 6 pm to 10:30 pm. The Viator group expedition from Coron has only three reviews, averaging 4.0, and is not marked free cancellation, which is why we list it last.
How the trip runs when you start in Coron
Everything begins the evening before. We Are Juan holds its mandatory briefing at 5 pm at its office on the National Highway in Poblacion 1, and Castaway’s listing puts its briefing at Outpost Hostels at 6 pm. Miss it and you can lose your place, so do not plan to land at Busuanga airport on the morning of departure. The van from the airport into Coron town takes about 45 minutes.
The boats leave from the Port of Coron in the morning. Sea Quest’s listing gives the most precise time: meet at 8:20 am, then tourism registration and Philippine Coast Guard clearance before boarding. From there the route runs south through the Culion islands, then Linapacan, then the islands off El Nido’s east coast. Crews pick the day’s stops each morning according to wind and sea, so treat any named island as likely, not promised.
The finish is where the Coron direction differs most. You do not sail into El Nido town. Boats land on the east coast of the peninsula, at San Fernando port or, on Castaway’s listing, Sibaltan, and a van or jeepney covers the last 45 minutes or so. We Are Juan includes that transfer to El Nido town, and Exodus lists drop-offs at TownSquare or Dipnay port. Keelooma, which sells direct, gives an arrival of about 5 pm on day three. Book your first El Nido night for that evening and leave flights for the next day at the earliest.
Local fees on the Coron departures
Four environmental fees can apply on this route: Coron PHP 200, Linapacan PHP 200, Culion PHP 100 and El Nido PHP 400. If you flew into Busuanga you have usually paid Coron’s already, since it is collected on arrival. What the listings say about the rest:
- We Are Juan: all entrance fees included. Guests need valid environmental tickets for El Nido, Linapacan, Culion and Coron, and the operator can process missing ones for you. Ask whether that costs extra.
- Castaway: island entrance fees and the Linapacan fee included; El Nido and Coron fees not included.
- Exodus: entrance fees and the Culion fee included; Linapacan and El Nido fees excluded.
- Sea Nomads: El Nido’s PHP 400 is excluded and payable at the port; the listing says regulations stop it covering the fee for you.
- Viator group trip: government fees excluded.
- Sea Quest 4-day: island entrance fees and permits included.
Carry pesos in cash either way. There are no cash machines between Coron and El Nido.
Operators that sell Coron departures direct
Some of the best-known names on this route do not sell through GetYourGuide or Viator for the Coron start. We earn nothing from these links.
- Keelooma runs 3 days and 2 nights in both directions at PHP 19,800 per person for travel from 1 November 2026 to 20 May 2027 (checked 25 October 2026). It welcomes children from five, which none of the Coron listings above do.
- Big Dream Boatman sells 4 days and 3 nights at $599 per person (list price $649), meeting at Coron Port at 9 am and finishing around 4 pm on day four after a jeepney to Lio. It does not sail in August or September.
- Tao Philippines runs its Original trip as four nights: a 6 pm briefing in Coron, departure at 8:30 am the next day, and arrival in El Nido town around noon on day five. We could not read a current price on its site.
- Buhay Isla lists 3, 4 and 5-day trips in either direction, from PHP 22,900 for three days with all fees included, booked by email.
For how these compare as operators, see the best expeditions page.
Reasons to start in Coron, and the downsides
Starting in Coron suits you if you are flying into Busuanga, want to do the Coron lakes and lagoons first, and plan to finish your trip with El Nido’s beaches and day tours. Our Coron island hopping and El Nido island hopping pages cover the day trips on each side. If you have not fixed your direction yet, our guide to Coron to El Nido or the reverse weighs both, and the El Nido to Coron page lists the northbound departures.
The low-star reviews on the We Are Juan Coron listing are worth reading before you pay. One traveller found three or more other boats at most stops, so the islands felt less remote than expected. Another was held at the first camp for two days by weather and felt the boat was not in good shape. A five-star reviewer was taken to the wrong drop-off at the end and paid extra to get to their hotel, so confirm your drop-off point at the briefing. On Exodus, one July 2026 review reported being moved to another company’s boat because the group did not fill, and cash stolen overnight. Lock valuables in your dry bag and keep them with you.
Every trip in this direction is basic: shared toilets and showers, no Wi-Fi, little phone signal and limited power. Check the boat and captain are licensed, life jackets are on board and the Coast Guard has cleared the departure. Sailings stop when it has not. Our 3-day, 2-night guide covers what the standard trip leaves out, and the price breakdown adds up fees, tips and transfers.

Coron to El Nido Expedition: FAQ
Short answers for travellers starting the crossing in Coron.
The 3-day, 2-night shared trips sold on GetYourGuide and Viator cost $281 to $369 per person on dates we checked in late October 2026. Sea Quest's 4-day trip with a resort night was $1,051. Direct operators quote in pesos or dollars: Keelooma PHP 19,800 from November 2026, Big Dream Boatman $599 for 4 days. See the price breakdown.
We Are Juan has the most, 4.8 from 167 reviews on its Coron departure. Castaway rates slightly higher at 4.9 from 45 reviews. Read our We Are Juan review and Castaway review.
The day before at the latest. We Are Juan's mandatory briefing is at 5 pm the evening before departure, and Castaway's is at 6 pm. The van from Busuanga airport into Coron town takes about 45 minutes.
Not in El Nido town. Boats land on the east coast of the peninsula, usually at San Fernando port (Castaway's listing names Sibaltan), and a van or jeepney takes about 45 minutes to town. We Are Juan includes that transfer. Keelooma gives an arrival of about 5 pm on day three.
It depends on the listing. We Are Juan includes all entrance fees; Castaway and Exodus include some and leave out El Nido's PHP 400; Sea Nomads and the Viator group trip exclude government fees. Coron's PHP 200 is usually paid when you arrive at Busuanga. Bring pesos in cash.
Not on most marketplace listings: We Are Juan and Sea Nomads set 16 as the minimum and Castaway and Exodus are for adults. Keelooma, which sells direct, accepts children from five, and Buhay Isla from ten.
Boats only sail with Coast Guard clearance. Most GetYourGuide listings here allow free cancellation up to 24 hours before (We Are Juan up to 2 days), and We Are Juan's own policy offers a refund or a new date if it cancels for weather. See the best time to go.
The trip is the same length either way. Starting in Coron suits travellers flying into Busuanga who want to end with El Nido's beaches. Compare the northbound trips on our El Nido to Coron page or read which direction to choose.
