Buhay Isla is a direct-booking expedition operator that sells three trip lengths between Coron and El Nido, in either direction: 3 days and 2 nights for PHP 22,900, 4 days and 3 nights for PHP 26,900, and 5 days and 4 nights for PHP 30,900 per person, all listed as “all fees included” on its booking page on 25 October 2026. It takes guests from age 10, which is younger than most operators allow, and you book by email. Its 3-day price is several thousand pesos above the other direct operators we track, and its own page leaves out the deposit and cancellation terms. Pick it for a 4- or 5-day trip with children aged 10 or 11; for a standard 3-day trip there are cheaper options.
Exodus Expedition 3D2N, Coron to El Nido
The three Buhay Isla trips
Buhay Isla gives its trips names, not numbers. All three run one way, from Coron to El Nido or the reverse.
| Trip | Length | Price per person (25 Oct 2026) | Stated departure days |
|---|---|---|---|
| Voyager’s Sunrise | 3 days, 2 nights | PHP 22,900 | Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat, plus Tue and Thu every other week |
| Seeker’s Realm | 4 days, 3 nights | PHP 26,900 | Sun and Wed, plus Sat every other week |
| Nomad’s Odyssey | 5 days, 4 nights | PHP 30,900 | Not stated |
The step between them is steady: each extra night adds PHP 4,000 per person. That makes the longer trips better value per night than the short one. A 5-day trip costs about PHP 7,700 per night, against about PHP 11,450 a night on the 3-day trip (our arithmetic from the listed prices, before any promotion).
Prices are in pesos only, with no dollar rate on the page. When we checked, the page also showed “PROMO!!! 20% OFF this SEPT 2026”, a promotion that applied to September departures and had passed by late October. The season line on the same page still read “November 01, 2025 to July 30, 2026”, which is last season’s wording. Ask Buhay Isla which dates it is running for 2026 to 2027 before you plan around it.
You book by email at info@buhayisla.com or through the contact form, giving your date, direction and group size. Buhay Isla says email works best.
What the price includes, and what we could not confirm
Buhay Isla lists meals, local guides (at least four), base-camp accommodation, camping equipment, use of the boat and kayaks, fishing gear and snorkel masks. Fins are not provided, so bring your own if you want them. Rum is provided, and you can bring your own beer or wine with no corkage charge, which is more relaxed than Tao, for example, which charges for hard liquor and bars outside beer.
The phrase “all fees included” is not defined on the page. On this route the local eco-tourism fees are El Nido PHP 400, Coron PHP 200, Linapacan PHP 200 and Culion PHP 100. Keelooma and Big Dream Boatman both exclude the El Nido and Coron fees, so it is worth asking Buhay Isla in writing whether those two are covered.
Three things we could not find on Buhay Isla’s own site:
- the deposit and payment terms;
- the cancellation and refund rules;
- what happens if the Coast Guard stops a departure for weather.
The other direct operators publish these. Big Dream Boatman takes a 40% deposit, Keelooma refunds in full (less PHP 1,000) seven or more days out, and We Are Juan offers a full refund or reschedule if weather cancels a trip. Get Buhay Isla’s version by email before you send money.
Camps, group size and age rules
Accommodation is a basic hut with a mattress, pillows and a mosquito net. If you ask, you can sleep on the sand, on the boat, in a tent or on a bamboo floor instead. Buhay Isla says there are toilets at every camp and on its boats. The boats are traditional bangkas.
Open trips take 16 to 24 people depending on the boat. That is a similar size to We Are Juan (up to 24 per boat on its own site) and Castaway (up to 24).
The minimum age is 10. For comparison, the stated minimums are 13 at Tao, 12 at Big Dream Boatman, 16 at We Are Juan and 18 at Castaway. Only Keelooma, at 5 and over, goes lower among the operators we track. For a family with a 10 or 11-year-old who wants more than three days, Buhay Isla is one of the few fits.
We have not found a day-by-day route on Buhay Isla’s own site. A travel blog quoted in search results mentions Daracotan, Cagdanao and Lobog, but we could not confirm those on Buhay Isla’s pages, so we do not rely on them.
How it compares on price
Direct 3-day prices, as published by each operator in October 2026:
| Operator | 3D2N price per person | Source date |
|---|---|---|
| We Are Juan | PHP 16,000 to 19,000 by date | 25 Oct 2026 |
| Castaway Tours | from PHP 17,000 (late Oct), PHP 18,000 (Nov) | 25 Oct 2026 |
| Sea Nomads | PHP 18,000 | 25 Oct 2026 |
| Keelooma | PHP 19,800 for 1 Nov 2026 to 20 May 2027 | 25 Oct 2026 |
| Buhay Isla | PHP 22,900 | 25 Oct 2026 |
Inclusions differ, so the cheapest headline is not always the cheapest trip once fees are added. Our expedition price guide works through those differences. For longer trips, Buhay Isla’s 4D3N at PHP 26,900 sits alongside Big Dream Boatman’s 4D3N at $599 to $649 and Tao’s four-night Original at US$650 and up. Our 4-day and longer page compares them.

Bookable alternatives
Buhay Isla is not on GetYourGuide or Viator. If you would rather book online with free cancellation, the closest options are 3-day trips:
- Exodus Expedition, Coron to El Nido: 4.7 from 16 reviews, $281 per person on the first open date we checked in late October 2026. The listing includes the Culion fee and insurance but excludes the Linapacan and El Nido fees. Adults 18+. Our review.
- We Are Juan, Coron to El Nido: 4.8 from 167 reviews, $311, age 16+. Our review.
- Keelooma’s expedition with a cultural experience: 5.0 from 2 reviews, $324. Keelooma’s own site accepts children from age 5; check the listing’s rules before booking with kids.
The availability box on this page is for the Exodus listing, not Buhay Isla. To see every option side by side, go to the best expeditions, or pick your start: Coron to El Nido or El Nido to Coron.
