Where to Stay in Coron for the El Nido Expedition

Sleep near the briefing the night before you sail, and near Coron Port the night you land.

  • Town hotels to the briefing, on foot 4–17 Min
  • Busuanga airport to town by van About 45 Min
  • Prices & Fees Checked 25 Oct 2026

Stay in Coron town proper, on or just off the National Highway in Poblacion, the night before you sail. We Are Juan’s briefing is compulsory and starts at 5 pm the evening before departure in its office opposite Jollibee, and the town hotels below are 4 to 17 minutes from it on foot. If you are coming the other way, from El Nido, the boats land at Coron Port, about 2 km from the centre, so a hotel beside the port saves a tricycle ride at the end of three days on a bangka. The pool resorts on the Mount Tapyas side suit a longer stay and sit a short tricycle ride from the briefing. Island resorts and the beach hotels near Busuanga airport, about 45 minutes from town by van, are for extra nights, not the night before you sail.

Hotel facts, deposits and prices were read on Booking.com on 25 October 2026; walk and drive times are free-flow estimates from OpenStreetMap routing, and tricycles take longer. We earn a commission if you book a hotel or an expedition through our links, at no extra cost to you.

Three picks, one per style of trip

One value room within walking distance of the briefing, one hotel beside the port where the boats from El Nido come in, one pool resort above town. The price on each card is the lowest nightly price Booking.com showed for 15–16 January 2027 (dry season, two adults, one room), with taxes and fees included as Booking.com displayed them.

We Are Juan briefs at 5 pm at its office on the National Highway, opposite Jollibee, and its boats from El Nido arrive at about 4 to 5 pm on day three. Castaway’s listing puts its 6 pm briefing at “Outpost Hostels”. Big Dream Boatman meets at Coron Port at 9:00, Keelooma’s boats leave Coron after Coast Guard and port clearance, and Tao holds a 6 pm briefing at its Coron office before boarding at the Coron pier at 8:30.

Coron town proper: walk to the briefing

This is the base for the night before a Coron to El Nido departure. You can walk to the briefing, eat in town afterwards and be back in bed early. The trade-off is the pool: apart from Corto del Mar and Outpost’s rooftop, the pools we found are outside the centre, and several town listings show no parking, which only matters if you rented a car. If you plan a day of island hopping before the expedition, the town also keeps you inside the pickup zone: the Coron Ultimate Tour collects from hotels in Coron Town Proper (Barangays 1–6) only.

The Ridge Coron (mid-range) scored 9.0 from 3,147 reviews, includes breakfast in its $72 rate and is about 8 minutes on foot from the briefing office. DK’s Inn (budget) scored 9.4 from 933 reviews; its cheapest room for two was $42, with breakfast at US$6. Hop Hostel (budget) is the closest, about 4 minutes away, with a rooftop, luggage storage, private queen rooms from $100 and dorm beds from $18; the minimum check-in age is 18. Corto del Mar Hotel (mid-range) has an outdoor pool and free private parking, about 17 minutes’ walk from the office; it showed no rooms for our January dates. See all stays in Coron town.

If you booked Castaway

Castaway’s Coron to El Nido expedition names “Outpost Hostels” for its compulsory 6 pm briefing. Booking.com lists Outpost Hostel - Coron (budget) in town, about 11 minutes’ walk from the We Are Juan office, with a rooftop pool, private queen rooms from $102 and a minimum check-in age of 18. Confirm the venue on your voucher before you book a bed there.

Coron Port: where the boats from El Nido land

After three days of shared showers on island camps, the night you land is the one to spend on a comfortable bed close to the water. Big Dream Boatman and Keelooma both use Coron Port, which sits about 2 km from the town centre; Keelooma quotes about PHP 200 for a tricycle from the port into town. The only hotel we found right beside the port is a bigger, pricier one.

Two Seasons Coron Bayside Hotel (upper) scored 8.4 from 703 reviews. Its listing puts it a 919-foot walk from the seaport, every room type we saw faced the bay, and breakfast was included in the $234 rate. From here the briefing office is about 2 minutes away by tricycle, so it also works the night before you sail if you want the view.

The Mount Tapyas side: pools a tricycle ride from town

The hillside and highway west and north of the centre is where Coron’s pool resorts are. It suits a stay of several nights, with Coron day tours before or after the expedition. The catch is the walk: 11 to 19 minutes to the briefing from the nearer resorts, and longer from the rest, so plan on a tricycle.

Zuri Resort (upper) has an infinity pool and spa, scored 8.9 from 846 reviews and sets a minimum check-in age of 18. Coron Soleil Garden Resort (mid-range) sits near Mount Tapyas, 1.4 miles from the town proper according to its listing, with breakfast in the $138 rate and a PHP 2,000 cash deposit on arrival. Kokosnuss Garden Resort (budget) has garden bungalows from $68 around a pool, a 5-minute tricycle ride from town per the listing. Coron Westown Resort (mid-range) has two outdoor pools and rooms from $65; its listing says a 12-minute drive from the town proper.

Island resorts: for after the trip

Coron’s island resorts are reached by boat, so they make little sense the night before a departure. They work as a reward once you land. Two Seasons Coron Island Resort (luxury) scored 8.8 from 266 reviews; its listing includes a free round-trip airport transfer, and the cheapest bungalow was $549 with breakfast. See all stays on Busuanga.

Busuanga airport side: beds closest to your flight

Coron’s airport is Francisco B. Reyes (Busuanga, USU), and the van into town takes about 45 minutes. If your flight lands on the afternoon of the briefing, go straight to town; there is no slack to check in out here first. The airport side earns its place on the last night instead: if you land from El Nido at about 4 to 5 pm and fly out early next morning, a hotel between the port and the airport shortens the morning run.

El Rio y Mar Resort (upper) is a beach resort with an infinity pool, scored 9.5 from 264 reviews and lists a free airport shuttle; it is about 26 minutes from the airport and 41 minutes from the briefing office, with breakfast in the $191 rate. Tao and The Discoveries Of both advise a spare day before any international connection, and we would not plan a same-evening flight after an expedition.

Should you split the stay?

Split it if you have more than two nights in Coron. Spend the briefing night in town, then move to a pool resort or an island resort for the days around your Coron island tours. If you are arriving by boat from El Nido, take the first night beside the port or in town, since you land late in the afternoon tired and salty, and move the next morning. With only one night, do not split: moving costs a morning, and checkout times at the town hotels we read fall at noon. For a very early flight home, end at the airport side.

Booking tips

Book the expedition first, then the room. We Are Juan’s listing allows free cancellation up to 2 days before, and several of the hotel rates we saw for January could be cancelled free until mid December or early January, so a room can follow the trip date. On dates we checked in late October 2026, the We Are Juan Coron to El Nido trip cost $311 per person.

Plan to be in town by mid-afternoon the day before: the briefing is compulsory. Your main bag is stowed on the boat for three days, so pack a small dry bag with what you need. Bring pesos: the hostels collect their deposits in cash, Coron’s PHP 200 environmental fee is collected in cash on arrival, and We Are Juan asks every guest to hold valid environmental tickets for El Nido, Linapacan, Culion and Coron (it can process them for you).

Breakfast, parking and deposits, as listed on Booking.com

Booking.com showed every Coron price with taxes and fees included, and none of these listings showed a separate resort fee. What differs is breakfast, parking and the cash deposit.
