Where to Stay in El Nido for the Coron Expedition

Sleep near the briefing the night before you sail, and in town or Lio the night you land.

  • Corong-Corong hotels to Pop's District, on foot 3–9 Min
  • Town to El Nido (Lio) airport by road About 10 Min

Stay in Corong-Corong, the beach just south of El Nido town, the night before you sail to Coron. We Are Juan holds its compulsory briefing at 5 pm the evening before departure at its office in Pop’s District, Corong-Corong, and Castaway holds its 6 pm briefing at Outpost Beach Hostel, a few minutes down the same road; the hotels below are 3 to 9 minutes’ walk from Pop’s District. If you are arriving from Coron, most vans from San Fernando port end in El Nido town, so sleep there or in Lio, next to the airport, if you fly out the next morning. Las Cabanas is a quieter beach a short tricycle ride further south. Nacpan is a beach for days off, about 20 km north of town, and too far for the night before.

Hotel facts, deposits and prices were read on Booking.com on 25 October 2026; walk and drive times are free-flow estimates from OpenStreetMap routing, and tricycles take longer. We earn a commission if you book a hotel or an expedition through our links, at no extra cost to you.

We Are Juan briefs at 5 pm in Pop’s District and drives its guests to San Fernando port on the east coast, about 45 minutes across the peninsula, where most El Nido boats leave. Castaway’s El Nido departures brief at Outpost Beach Hostel at 6 pm and sail from Sibaltan. Keelooma’s office is in Lio and its expedition meets at 7:30 am; Big Dream Boatman meets at 86’d Gourmet Cafe & Bar at 9:00. Coming back from Coron, We Are Juan and Sea Quest drive guests from San Fernando port to El Nido town, Keelooma runs a jeepney to TownSquare El Nido, and Big Dream Boatman ends at Sitio Uno in Lio.

Corong-Corong: walk to the briefing

This is the base for the night before an El Nido to Coron departure. Pop’s District and Outpost Beach Hostel are a few hundred metres apart on the same stretch, so either briefing is a walk. The shared vans from Puerto Princesa also stop at El Nido’s transport terminal or at roadside hotels in Corong-Corong. The trade-off is that the ferry terminal and the port where El Nido’s lagoon tours leave are in town, a tricycle ride away.

El Nido Moringa Resort (upper) is about 3 minutes’ walk from Pop’s District, scored 8.8 from 561 reviews and lists an outdoor pool, a spa and free parking; its cheapest double was $213, with breakfast at US$6. La Plage Hotel (upper), about 5 minutes away, has an outdoor pool and a French restaurant; its family room with veranda was $219. Last Frontier Beach Resort - Adults Only (upper) is on the beach about 6 minutes from Pop’s District and scored 9.6 from 622 reviews, but showed no rooms for our January dates. Panorama Boutique Hotel & Beach Club (luxury), next to Outpost Beach Hostel, has outdoor and indoor pools and does not allow children; its deluxe suite was $392 with breakfast. See all stays in Corong-Corong.

If you booked Castaway

Castaway’s El Nido to Coron expedition says you must attend the 6 pm briefing at Outpost Beach Hostel to make it onto the roster. Outpost Beach Hostel (budget) scored 8.7 from 489 reviews and is adults only, with a minimum check-in age of 18 and a PHP 1,000 cash deposit. Its standard twin has a bunk bed and was $76; a double room was $136 and dorm beds started at $34. Sleeping at the venue takes the timing out of the evening.

El Nido town: where the boats from Coron drop you

Town is the arrival point for most Coron to El Nido trips, the place for the ferry terminal, banks and El Nido’s lagoon tours, and about 10 minutes by road from the airport. It works for the night before a departure too, with a short tricycle ride to Pop’s District at 5 pm. The trade-off is the evening before you sail: the briefing venues are 2 km or more away, a tricycle each way. The beach hotels sit at the Caalan end, 17 to 20 minutes’ walk from the town hall.

Z Garden Hotel Managed by H Hospitality (mid-range) scored 9.6 from 564 reviews, lists a free airport shuttle and had doubles from $101. Amari By Vivere Hospitality Group (upper) has a rooftop pool and spa, scored 9.4 from 494 reviews, and its $212 queen room included breakfast and a sunset cruise; it takes a PHP 2,000 cash deposit. Cuna Hotel (mid-range) has an outdoor pool in the centre, rooms from $94, a minimum check-in age of 18 and a PHP 3,000 deposit. Spin Designer Hostel - El Nido (budget) had dorm beds from $25 with breakfast and private singles at $52. At the Caalan end, The Nest El Nido Beach Resort (upper) faces Cadlao Island and had family rooms from $173 with breakfast, and Vellago Resort (luxury) has sea-view rooms from $739, 24-hour solar power and no children. See all stays in El Nido town.

Las Cabanas and Marimegmeg: a quieter beach

The long beach south of Corong-Corong is the place for a slower day before or after the trip. From here Pop’s District is about 3 minutes by tricycle and Outpost Beach Hostel about 25 minutes on foot, so it works for the briefing if you arrange a ride back. Maremegmeg Beach Club (upper) is beachfront with a pool, scored 9.5 from 248 reviews and sets a minimum check-in age of 18; it showed no rooms for our January dates. See all stays in Las Cabanas.

Lio: the airport end, and Keelooma’s base

El Nido’s airport (ENI) is at Lio, about 4 km north of town, with flights to Clark, Cebu, Busuanga and a few other airports. Keelooma’s office is here and Big Dream Boatman’s trips from Coron end at Sitio Uno in Lio, so Lio suits a Keelooma departure or the night you land before a morning flight. For a We Are Juan or Castaway briefing, it is 11 minutes by road to Pop’s District each way.

Seda Lio El Nido Palawan (luxury) is on the beach in the Lio Tourism Estate, scored 8.8 from 735 reviews, lists a free shuttle to and from El Nido Airport and sets a minimum check-in age of 18; its cheapest room was $368 with breakfast. Tao and The Discoveries Of both advise a spare day before any international connection, since small-plane flights and boats both stop for weather. See all stays in Lio.

Nacpan: for days off, not the night before

Nacpan is about 20 km north of town by road, too far to stay the night before a briefing. Book it after the trip, or before it with a move back to Corong-Corong on briefing day. Nacpan Beach Glamping Managed by H Hospitality Group (upper) has air-conditioned tents from $323 with breakfast and a PHP 3,000 deposit. Mad Monkey Hostel Nacpan Beach (budget) is a beachfront hostel with shared bathrooms, a bar that plays music until late and loft doubles from $49; check-in is 18 and over. See all stays at Nacpan.

Should you split the stay?

Split it if you have three or more nights in El Nido. Spend your island-hopping days in town, since several shared lagoon tours collect only from hotels in El Nido town proper, and take the last night in Corong-Corong so the briefing is a walk. If you add Nacpan, put it first and come back south the day before you sail. Arriving from Coron, one night in town or Lio is enough unless you are staying on for El Nido’s day tours. With only one night before the trip, do not split: stay in Corong-Corong and spend the afternoon on its beach.

Booking tips

Book the expedition first, then the room. We Are Juan’s listing allows free cancellation up to 2 days before, and several hotel rates we saw for January could be cancelled free until mid December or early January. On dates we checked in late October 2026, the We Are Juan El Nido to Coron trip cost $311 per person.

Plan to be in El Nido by mid-afternoon the day before: the briefing is compulsory, and the van from Puerto Princesa takes five to six hours. Your main bag is stowed on the boat for three days, so pack a small dry bag with what you need. Bring pesos for hostel deposits, tricycles and the environmental fees: We Are Juan’s El Nido to Coron listing excludes El Nido’s PHP 400 fee, Linapacan’s PHP 200, Culion’s PHP 100 and Coron’s PHP 200.

Breakfast, parking and deposits, as listed on Booking.com

Booking.com showed every El Nido price with taxes and fees included, and none of these listings showed a separate resort fee. What differs is breakfast, parking and the cash deposit.

Read on 25 October 2026. Our arithmetic for two people on the We Are Juan trip: $311 each comes to $622, and a $213 night at El Nido Moringa Resort before the briefing brings it to $835, plus PHP 900 each (PHP 1,800 for two) in the environmental fees the listing excludes.
